I read the
article on
Graffiti and i understand all points of view but i have my own opinions about it. I get the difference between Baksy Graffiti and Miss 17. From what it sounds like to me is Baksys were art and Miss 17 just scribbled her name everywhere. I understand it represented the changing area but everyone is stuck seeing it and it is only symbolic to a few people.
The history of graffiti is cool, as well as how it started off by getting your name out and then it turned into art on gallery walls but i feel you dont have to shove your feelings on everyone through the drawings if someone is into that they can go to a gallery but people shouldnt be forced to see things they dont want to see.
You have to ask yourself why it makes the value of neighborhoods go down. Most people are doing it at crazy hours at night and what kind of people are they. I know that sounds steriotypical but would you feel safe with your kids walking around at night in that kind of area
I think im missing the point of the article maybe ill get it after tonights class
