THE PILLOW MAN

I found this play to be very gripping. I didn't want to put it down which in itself disturbed me. From the second the play started i felt that Katurian was innocent and I was disturbed by the officers beating him but that came into perspective when i read about the dead children.  From that point on i saw both sides.
The brother Michal's  character didn't make sense to me because in the beginning of the book he acted slow but then later on when he was confessing to what made him do the murders he didn't seem slow anymore.
I cant understand how the police had the right to just execute Katurian without a trial . As far as i know the biggest murderers have a trial and executed him after they found out that he didn't kill the kids and the circumstances from which he killed his parents and brother.
On the account of his brother he would have gotten off anyway because he is slow. Without looking into these details. it was a very gripping story.
